Tested on DynarchMenu 2.8 and 2.81, both fails in internet explorer 5.
DynarchMenu 2.4.1 was fine.

Browser: Internet Explorer 5.01 sp2
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4, spanish version

MSIE 5.01 with dmenus 2.8 report:

Error: Cuantificador inesperado (unexpected quantifier)

MSIE 5.01 with dmenus 2.8.1 report:

Error: Cuantificador inesperado (unexpected quantifier)

I have downgraded to version 2.4.1, who dont fails.

Also MSIE 5.5 and 6 both are fine.

I'm sorry about this bug... We will try to track it down. IE 5.0 indeed has some problems concerning regular expressions; in our opinion users should be convinced to upgrade their browsers, rather than having web developers downgrading their applications, but I hope it will be an easy fix.

Looks like code in Dynarch menu starting from version 2.8 use Non-greedy matching - <quantifier>?
which is not available in IE JScript 5.0 engine.

I hope that was possible... But is easier to convince one developer (me) to downgrade appications than to convince thousands of users arround the world to upgrade their browsers.

The statistics of my visitors in 2005 show approximately the same quantity of MSIE 5,0 that the sum of all gecko flavours.  That is, to many MSIE 5,0 to convince them :(
